Plastering Services in Small Dole

Old Artex and textured ceilings are handled as part of the service. We can skim over or remove them to give a smooth, modern finish ready for painting, and new plasterboard from renovations, extensions or stud walls is skimmed to a paint-ready surface in the same way.

Not every crack needs a full re-skim. For smaller cracks and localised damage we can carry out a patch repair rather than skimming the whole wall or ceiling, which is quicker and more cost-effective where a complete re-skim simply is not necessary.

Fresh plaster needs time before it can be painted. A newly skimmed surface typically needs around five to seven days to dry fully, though this varies with room ventilation and the time of year, and we advise you on realistic timing for your specific job at quote stage.

Every job follows the same disciplined sequence. It begins with a site visit to assess the extent of plastering work required, then careful preparation of the surface, including removal of any loose or damaged material. A skim coat is applied to a smooth, even finish, given drying time, then sanded, inspected and handed over ready for painting.
