Before anything goes on the wall we plan the pattern layout, working out how the repeats fall so joins and bold designs align correctly across the room. This planning minimises wasted material and is the difference between a large-repeat or feature pattern that flows properly and one that jars at every seam. We never simply start hanging and hope the pattern works out.

Preparation is where a good wallcovering finish is won or lost. We prepare the walls properly, stripping back any existing wallpaper and making the surface sound before a single drop is hung. Where plaster is uneven or damaged it may need skimming first, which we can carry out as part of the same project so the finished paper sits flat and even.

Because we are painters and decorators as well as wallcovering installers, the surrounding paintwork can be handled by the same team on the same visit. That means ceilings, woodwork and adjacent walls are finished to sit properly against the new wallcovering, with one contractor responsible for the whole room rather than several trades to coordinate.
