Part of what makes a polished plaster wall feel expensive is the way light moves across it. Because the surface is burnished rather than flat, it catches and softens daylight and lamplight differently through the day, so the wall never looks quite the same twice. For bathrooms and wet rooms, Tadelakt is applied and then sealed so it is genuinely water-resistant, unlike standard Venetian plaster which is decorative rather than waterproof.
