The finish itself is built up by hand in multiple thin coats rather than one thick application. Each layer is applied and then burnished before the next, which is what develops the depth, movement and light-reflective sheen that defines Venetian plaster. It is slow, deliberate work, and rushing it is exactly what flattens the final result, so we let the process take the time it needs.

A flawless plaster finish depends entirely on the surface beneath it, so careful substrate preparation comes first. We make sure the wall is sound, smooth and properly prepared to receive the plaster, because any unevenness underneath telegraphs straight through the thin, hand-applied layers. This groundwork is a large part of why a specialist finish looks the way it does.

Because a plaster finish is hard to judge from a description alone, we can show real project photography across different finishes and colour casts. Seeing how polished plaster, Marmorino and Tadelakt have turned out in other homes makes it far easier to picture the effect in your own room before any work is booked.

Once sealed, these finishes are hard-wearing and easy to live with. A Tadelakt bathroom has no grout lines to scrub or reseal, and a polished plaster feature wall tends to gain character over time rather than chipping or dating like some paint trends, so the finish still looks considered years after it goes on.
