Genuine polished plaster is a specialist finish, and it is not something most general decorating firms take on in-house. Because the surface is burnished rather than flat, it catches and softens daylight and lamplight differently through the day, so the wall never looks quite the same twice. It is this movement, more than any single colour, that sets the finish apart from paint.

A typical feature wall takes several days to complete, because each of the thin layers needs time to partially dry before it can be burnished and the next coat added.
